The Soothing Power of a Backyard Water Feature

Nothing beats the calming sound of moving water. A thoughtfully placed water feature adds an instant sense of peace and tranquility to any yard, turning even a simple patio or garden into a relaxing escape.

From simple spillway bowls to more intricate waterfalls and streams, water features can come in all different shapes and sizes.

Homeowners across Connecticut and Massachusetts choose to incorporate water features into their yard for more than their aesthetics. A pond, waterfall, or fountain becomes a focal point, drawing people outside, and adds value to the property, while creating an environment that feels restorative.

Water Feature Design and Installation, Tailored to Your Property

No two yards are alike, and neither are our builds. We work closely with homeowners to understand how they want to use their outdoor space, then design and install a water feature that fits into their landscape naturally.

Whether you have a wide-open landscape or a more compact yard, there’s a water feature that can enhance your space. Even small-scale water features can make a big statement. With the right design and placement, a water feature becomes a standout element of your landscape that soothes and refreshes.

Frequently Asked Questions About Water Feature Installations

Costs vary based on size, stonework, plants, fish, and lighting. A standard thousand-gallon pond typically costs between $5,000 and $10,000. Smaller features like spillway bowls and free-standing fountains generally start in the $1,000 to $3,000 range. We will walk you through options that fit your budget during your consultation with us.

Much less than you’d imagine. Most water features only need a drain and pressure wash once or twice a year. Depending on the plants included in your design, even algae management may not be a regular concern.

Spillway bowls, water gardens, free-standing fountains, and lotus pockets all work well in tighter spaces. These options can give you the look and sound of water without requiring a large footprint.

Most installations are completed in two to three days; however, more complex builds with custom stonework, extensive planting, or larger ponds may take longer. We will give you a clear timeline before any work begins.

No. Fish need at least two to three feet of water depth to survive a New England winter. If you want to keep fish year-round, we can also incorporate a floating heater and aeration system into the design.
